COLCHESTER BOWLING CLUB
Colchester Road, Ardleigh CO7 7PQ
All players are equally responsible for arranging the tie and it must be played by the closing date of that round (displayed on Notice Board and on COMPETITIONS page).
No extension will be allowed without the permission of the Competition Secretary and only before the closing date of that round. Such permission will be granted at the discretion of the Competition Secretary in limited circumstances only.
If you cannot play by the Closing Date of any round you must inform your opponent and concede the tie.
Singles: 2 woods = 21 ends, 4 woods = 21 shots. No singles match may be played without a correctly-dressed Marker. The Marker should be appointed by the first-named (home) player and should be a Club Member.
The winner of the tie is responsible for entering the result on the competition draw sheet immediately on completion of the tie. The match scorecard, signed by BOTH players, should be placed in the Competition Secretary's box in the Clubhouse.
In the event of a tie not being played by the Closing Date (unless an extension has been granted as per Rule 2 above), then BOTH players face elimination from the competition.
In Handicap matches the lower-handicapped player has to score 21 shots and the higher-handicapped player has to score 21 shots PLUS the difference in shots between the handicaps of the two players. If the handicaps of both players are equal the match is played until 21 shots is reached by one player.
Any competitor who is not able to be present over Finals Weekend MUST withdraw from ALL competitions BEFORE the semi-final stage.
All Finals will be played over Finals Weekend (see Club Handbook for dates) and will be played in WHITES.
